Ross Undergraduate Academic Advising has created this Pre-Health advising page, compiling resources from LSA Pre-Health Advising and other departments across campus, for BBA students interested in learning more about Pre-Health at University of Michigan. If you have any questions academic advisors, Lisa Ferrara and Eva Bacevice, are working to familiarize themselves with Pre-Health topics. LSA Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

LSA Pre-Health Advising has comprehensive and up to date information for students who are interested in pursuing careers in the health field. Below we have highlighted their website, advising drop-in hours, how to access workshops\/programming, and even a podcast you can listen to now!* <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LSA’s Pre-Health Advising Website<\/strong><\/a>:<\/strong> LSA\u2019s Pre-Health website has excellent resources to help you explore health careers, undertake activities and coursework to include during your time at UM, as well as preparation and advice for applying to professional school. Please spend time reviewing the \u201cExplore\u201d, \u201cPrepare\u201d, and \u201cApply\u201d pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pre-Health Drop-in Advising:<\/a><\/strong> Drop-in advising is open to all students, in any UM college. Drop-in are for quick questions on a first come, first served basis. Click this link<\/a> for dates, times, and to access the drop-in queue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Program, Workshops, and Events:<\/strong> Students can find various programs to help prepare them for their Pre-Health journey. Programming can entail check-ins on pre-health progress, application prep, help with course selection, and more! These events can be found on Happening @ Michigan<\/a> and registered for via Sessions @ Michigan<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Code Maize: <\/strong>This podcast is designed for pre-health students and will help guide you during the exploration, preparation, and application phases of your pre-health journey. Code Maize is created by LSA pre-health advisors, Julie Nelson and Maria Raab. Code Maize is LIVE and on Spotify<\/a>!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science Learning Center (SLC) Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Science Learning Center (SLC)<\/strong><\/a>: <\/strong>Located at 1720 Chemistry, 930 N. University. Students can call 734-764-9326 or email slc@umich.edu<\/a>.\u00a0 The SLC provides academic support to undergraduate science students, including GSI office hours, study groups, tutoring, and workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drop-in Peer Tutoring for Science Courses:<\/strong> Peer tutoring is open to all students enrolled in \u00a0Bio 171, Bio 172, Chem 130, Chem 210 and Chem 215. Please click here for hours and more information.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science Learning Center\u2019s (SLC) Science Success Series: <\/strong>Offers workshops, programming, and a self-enroll Canvas site<\/a> covering topics such as hearing from UM medical school admissions, current medical school student panels, and strategies for learning and success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University Career Center<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

University Career Center<\/strong><\/a>: Located at 3200 SAB, 515 E. Jefferson, for all issues pertaining to your exploration of the health professions and preparation beyond the classroom.<\/em> Check out their pre-health resources<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University Career Center can help you learn about different health professions to explore which is best for you. They can also assist you with finding volunteer and research opportunities, as well as help set up options to shadow practitioners. They can assist in all aspects of the admissions process – from resumes and cover letters, obtaining reference letters, and preparing for interviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
