the opportunity to connect with Ross Academic Advisors during orientation and throughout their first year. Information on how to make an appointment with an advisor will be provided at orientation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><a id=\"Ross Summer Orientation\" name=\"Ross Summer Orientation\"><\/a>What happens at Ross summer orientation?<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">On the second day of your on campus orientation, you will meet with BBA Academic Advisors. Check your orientation schedule when you arrive for details. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">At orientation with Academic Advisors, students will:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">learn more about the BBA Program<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">review the BBA curriculum<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">meet other BBA students<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">connect with the Ross Academic Advisors &amp; Peer Advisors<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">have the chance to ask any questions they might have<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Orientation is located at the Ross School of Business &#8211; 701 Tappan Street. You can view a map directing you to the Ross School <a href=\"https:\/\/rossweb.bus.umich.edu\/academics\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/RossMap.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><a id=\"Academic Requirements\" name=\"Academic Requirements\"><\/a>What Academic Requirements am I expected to meet as a Ross Freshman?<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Freshman students directly enrolled in the Ross BBA are expected to meet the following minimum requirements during their first year:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Complete the following three courses at U-M Ann Arbor, each with a grade of C or better, by the end of Winter 2018: a course in First-Year Writing in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA), Economics 101 (including IB or A-level test credit for this course), Calculus I, II, or III (including AP, IB, or A-Level test credit for this course).<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Successfully complete the following two courses at the Ross School of Business by the end of Winter 2018: BA 100, BCOM 250. Students are expected to take BCOM 250 on a graded basis. <\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Enroll in a minimum of 12 credits or more at U-M Ann Arbor during each Fall Term 2017 and Winter Term 2018.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Maintain &#8220;Good Academic Standing&#8221; at Ross with a term and cumulative grade point average of 2.500 or higher at U-M Ann Arbor. &nbsp;If a student\u2019s cumulative grade point average for Fall and Winter of freshman year falls below 2.500, student could be set on an alternative path within the program under the guidance of my Ross Academic Advisor. This alternative path will extend the Ross program until Winter 2022.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Freshman BBA students are also expected to meet the programmatic requirements of the Preferred Admission program during their freshman year at U-M:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Attend the BBA Freshman welcome event, which will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Ross School of Business (details for this event will be shared later). Please plan your arrival and move-in on campus to ensure full participation.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Meet regularly with their Ross Academic Advisor and participate in mandatory academic support activities as requested by their Ross Academic Advisor.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The Ross School of Business reserves the right to withdraw your BBA Admission offer if: 1) there has been a misrepresentation in or a violation of any of the terms of the application process; or 2) we learn that students have engaged in behavior prior to matriculation that indicates a serious lack of judgment or integrity<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We further reserve the right to require students to provide additional information and\/or authorization for the release of information about any matter. Below is some general information and answers to common questions regarding Ross program requirements. Ross Academic Advisors are another great resource for answering curriculum and course planning questions.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u200b<a id=\"First-Year Business Courses\" name=\"First-Year Business Courses\"><\/a><strong>Q.&nbsp;<\/strong>What business courses do&nbsp;I take during my first year?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><strong>A.&nbsp;<\/strong>BBA Freshmen will be required to take BCOM 250 (1.5 credit hours), Introduction to Business Communications, during the Winter Term of their first year (Note: This course must be taken for a letter grade). BBA Freshmen are also required to attend a bi-weekly seminar course (BA 100\u2013Intro to Ross: Foundations for Learning Business) as part of the program<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u200bBCOM 250 and BA 100 are the only mandatory business courses students take in their first year. The only other business course opportunity for first year students is through a Ross Study Abroad Program. Another suggestion would be coursework that adheres to a possible minor or other area of interest. Your first year at Michigan provides you with a great chance to explore different academic interests.
