Daily Virtual Open Advising Hours:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Monday, Wednesday, Friday  9:00 am – 11:00 am EST
Tuesday and Thursday             1:30 pm – 3:30 pm EST<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the above open advising times, you may send a message (with your UMID number) through Google Chat to rossfinaid@umich.edu<\/a> to initiate a virtual meeting. Messages will be answered in the order received, (wait time may exist). Once we are ready to assist, we will send you an invite to join us in a Google Meet room. We will wait no longer than 3 minutes for you to join before ending the meeting and moving onto the next meeting. Ross Financial Aid will not be available for virtual open advising outside of these times. Times are in Standard Eastern time zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Required Reading<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Required Reading<\/a> is the reference and resource guide for students who are awarded financial aid at the University of Michigan. We call it Required Reading because it answers many questions students ask about their financial aid and provides information you must know in order to receive financial aid at U-M. You are expected to read it in order to understand the rights and responsibilities that go along with receiving your aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winter 2026 Financial Aid<\/strong> Disbursement Information:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Graduate Aid: <\/strong>Student aid should be disbursed towards student accounts by Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Students can expect a refund on\/after Monday, January 12, 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Undergraduate Aid:<\/strong> Student aid should be disbursed towards student accounts by Monday, December 29, 2025. Students can expect a refund on\/after Monday, January 5, 2026. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Financial Aid Refund information:

Refunds are issued by check, unless the student has set up direct deposit prior to disbursement. Checks are mailed to students without direct deposit to their current active address in Wolverine Access. Mail delivery dates cannot be confirmed. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Any financial aid funds received on\/after after a term’s first financial aid disbursement will have funds disbursed during our weekly process each Wednesday\/Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Direct Deposit Set Up:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Set up your Direct Deposit to get refunds sent directly to a bank and not mailed in a paper check. Be sure that the current address on file is always up to date.

Winter 2026 Billing Information:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Student Financial Services<\/a> has noted that due date for the Winter 2026 will be January 31, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Late fee ($30) are charged within 3-5 days following the due date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
