{"id":156,"date":"2019-08-14T10:15:47","date_gmt":"2019-08-14T14:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rossweb.bus.umich.edu\/staff-recognition\/staff_recognition\/guidelines\/"},"modified":"2025-05-07T13:39:37","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T17:39:37","slug":"guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rossweb.bus.umich.edu\/staff-recognition\/guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nominations\">Nominations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Awards are issued annually<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up to six awards are given for staff and up to two for supervisors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compelling nominations include detailed, descriptive examples to get the point across. For instance, &#8220;S\/he is an excellent coworker&#8221; is much more supportive and convincing when followed with specific information about what makes them great. Use stories to bring experiences to life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nominators must identify themselves, but may request anonymity for their name and nomination to be concealed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each nomination is placed in the nominee&#8217;s personnel file regardless of whether or not they receive an award<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nominations received after the deadline are considered in the following year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nominations for staff who have direct reports (not temp) should be submitted in the Supervisor category. All others should be submitted as a staff nomination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"eligibility\">Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>HR will review the nominees for the following eligibility requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Has been a regular employee (not temp) at Ross for more than 6 months<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Has not received an Excellence award or the Ross Star Award within the past four years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is in good standing regarding their personnel record<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is not a current member of the Staff Recognition Committee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is not a current member of the Leadership Team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;Supervisors&#8221; are those who supervise at least one professional staff member (not temp)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"may_nominate\">Who May Nominate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone inside or outside the University may make a nomination. This includes all faculty, staff, and students.
