Tak Wakasugi GMBA Scholarships

These scholarships, named after Professor Tak Wakasugi, Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo and the founding Co-director of the Mitsui Center, were established to provide financial support to deserving students in the Ross Global MBA program.

Yuta Kiuchi 

Tak Wakasugi GMBA Scholar 2023-24
Presently serving as a Deputy General Manager, Council Member, and Teacher at Tokyo Seitoku Gakuen, Mr. Kiuchi has been instrumental in executing several substantial reforms in student recruitment and curriculum development, contributing significantly to increased student intakes and applications. Previously, he was a Project Leader at Sompo Japan where he managed accounts and remarkably boosted revenues. Mr. Kiuchi holds dual BAs in Economics from Hosei University and Tohoku University, alongside multiple teaching certifications. Beyond his academic achievements, he is an enthusiastic baseball player and coach.

Shoichiro Niijima 

Tak Wakasugi GMBA Scholar 2023-24
Currently a Senior Manager with substantial expertise in sustainability, business processes, and consulting at Accenture, PLC / Communications, Media, Technology Division, Tokyo. Mr. Niijima earlier took on the role of a Sales Representative for Samsung Electronics where he honed his skills in the marketing, sales, and supply chain operations of the manufacturing sector. He acquired his U.S. CPA in 2016 and is an alumnus of Waseda University where he specialized in Global and Diversity Management. Beyond his academic achievements, he is a passionate backpacker.
