Jenn Mull Receives First-Ever Ross Star Award

Jenn Mull, senior administrative coordinator on the Administrative Core Team, was recently announced as the winner of the Ross Star Award for receiving the most Ross Stars throughout the year. Ross Stars are submitted by peers, colleagues, and supervisors in recognition of everyday excellence, and this special award is a testament to Mull’s dedication and service to Michigan Ross.

When you nominate someone for a Ross Star, a certificate with a message from you acknowledging how that person has shined and made a difference is sent to their inbox. One such message describing Mull stated, “Jenn is a great team player and a pleasure to work with and collaborate on projects.”

Here’s more about Mull’s work at Michigan Ross and what the Ross Star Award means to her.

Jenn Mull

What is your role at Michigan Ross, and what are some of your main job responsibilities?

My role at Ross is senior administrative coordinator with ACT. ACT supports the centers, institutes, and program offices across Ross with event planning and support, onboarding and offboarding, and a myriad of other administrative tasks. Our team plays a critical role in ensuring all administrative functions are carried out smoothly, which allows the units at Ross to focus on their core missions. As a senior on the team, I also support the financial needs of the centers, institutes, and programs across Ross—processing invoices, reimbursements, honorariums, and the like.

What is your favorite part of working at Michigan Ross?

It’s hard to pick just one favorite thing, but I’d have to say the people. Everyone at Ross is friendly, generous, happy to be here, intent on doing their job well, supportive of their co-workers, and so much more. For me, coming to work every day is a pleasure because of these folks. My team of nine, plus our incredible supervisor, Sheila Patton, is the best group of people I’ve ever been fortunate enough to work with. Sheila’s leadership has fostered a sense of unity, and as a result, our team is not just effective but a joy to be part of.

What does being the recipient of this award mean to you?

Receiving this award is truly an honor. It means I’m doing my job well, my co-workers are happy with the results they see from me, and people are noticing — not just the big tasks I take on, those with tangible, quantifiable results, but the small tasks too. Those smaller tasks may be hard to measure or lack a showy result, but they are crucial in helping the units achieve their overall goals just the same.
