Spring/Summer- Recharge and Reconnect

  • Heartfulness Meditation– Weekly (Fridays, 12:00-12:30p) drop-in program designed to help you Mental well-being. The guided meditation practice involves three simple steps: relaxation, rejuvenation, and meditation.
  • Breath of Fresh Air Guided Nature Experience– June 3, 12-12:45p, Burnham House for an energizing break which will introduce the positive effects of being in nature on our social and emotional well-being. 
  • Gallup Pond Canoe Clean-Up– June 9, 3-5p at Gallup Canoe and Kayak Livery Join the Planet Blue Ambassador Program and Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation for a river clean-up! Canoe in Gallup Pond to pick up trash in the water with provided supplies. No prior paddling experience is required to participate in this litter clean-up.
  • Summer Drop-in Artmaking– June 12, June 26, July 10, and July 24 2-4p at Stamps Gallery to participate in a hands-on printmaking activity inspired by the work in Marianetta Porter: Breath, Fragment, Return. Explore the exhibition more with interactive gallery guides.
  • Learn to Meditate in 3 Days– July 7-9, via Livestream to make meditation part of your goal to strengthen your mental well-being. Discover three core practices—meditation, rejuvenation, and inner connect in just three session.

Meetings can be scheduled online (Zoom or Google Meet) or in person in the Wellness Suite (K1510).
Ross Performance and Wellness Coaching is not meant to replace: therapy, career coaching, or advising. 

Performance and Wellness Coaching is private but not confidential. Coaches will take all possible steps to keep your information private and are mandated to report instances of: risk of harm to self or others, Clery crimes, and acts of discrimination, harassment or sexual or gender-based misconduct in compliance with campus policy and state/federal law. Mandated reporting does not compel a student to engage with the subsequent processes but is intended to provide resources to students affected by the above.

8 Dimensions of Well-being

Physical. Supporting individual and community vitality, strength, and energy through health-promoting behaviors.

Emotional. Experiencing and managing a range of stressors, thoughts, and emotions in everyday life.

Environmental. Affirming the coexistence between ourselves and the places in which we live, work, and learn.

Financial. Developing and strengthening knowledge and skills for making sound financial decisions.

Occupational. Striving for satisfaction in academic or professional work.

Social. Feeling a sense of belonging and cultivating connections.

Intellectual. Embracing opportunity and curiosity around knowledge, skills, and ideas.

Spiritual. Exploring a sense of purpose and meaning beyond ourselves.

Enrollment in an academic program represents a big life change which brings stressors as well as opportunities. College is a perfect time to explore and establish wellness routines that can serve you for your whole life by supporting your health, preventing experiences like burn out, and optimizing your performance towards your goals. Student Wellness is here to help you on your journey.

  • Explore the Continuum of Care with comprehensive resources available at UM across all dimensions of well-being
  • Find ways to connect with each of the 8 dimensions of well-being through the Well-being Toolkit
  • Connect with a Wolverine Wellness Coach to help you feel your best and meet your goals related to eating and body image, alcohol and other drugs, or nicotine cessation goals
  • Meet with your friendly neighborhood psychologists at CAPS@Ross

  • Consult on how to best support a student
  • Consult on best practices for organizational policies and practices to support student wellness
  • Assist in connecting with campus resources
  • Provide bespoke training to you or your organization about how to best improve and support your/your organizations well-being
