New Entering students, starting in Spring/Summer 2022 :

If you are interested in Federal aid, you must submit a 2021-2022 FAFSA with school code 002325 for University of Michigan Ann Arbor before June 30, 2022. Upon receiving the FAFSA, we will either request for additional documents or create a Financial Aid Award Notice within 1-2 weeks from receiving all required documents.

For students that applied for federal aid as an undergraduate student in Winter 2022, and will now be a Graduate student in Spring/Summer 2022:

Please update your existing 2021-2022 FAFSA through studentaid.gov, by changing your grade status from undergraduate to a graduate student than contact rossfinaid@umich.edu to identify your unique situation. This will help us look for the updated FAFSA and ensure timely processing of Spring/Summer aid.

Continuing Students :

A Spring/Summer Financial Aid Award Notice will be automatically created if you:

  1. Have the current aid year’s FAFSA on file. And all associated documents with the FAFSA completed.

If you do not have a current year FAFSA on file, you will need to go to studentaid.gov to submit a 2021-2022 FAFSA. The 2021-2022 FAFSA is available until June 30,2022. If you miss this deadline you will not be eligible for federal aid. However, you may explore private loans.
