Fall 2023 and Winter 2024 Cost of Attendance Cohort 2023

Cohort 2023 Fall/Winter Cost of Attendance Budgets will be available July 2023.

A student’s financial aid is awarded based on the above standard estimated Cost of Attendance budget. Student’s may borrow up to the Cost of Attendance budget; less other aid (such as scholarships and department aid) to cover other budget expenses.

The University of Michigan bills all students for tuition and registration fees. Housing is billed only if the student lives in University of Michigan housing. International students are billed for International Health Insurance (part of personal expenses) each month and an additional international student service fee of $500 per semester.

Sometimes the standard estimated Cost of Attendance does not realistically meet a student’s actual expenses. Student’s that are in need of additional aid beyond the standard estimated Cost of Attendance budget, may want to seek a Budget Re-Evaluation.
