Announcement to enroll in the new Okta two-factor authentication with qr code directing users to the okta enroll webpage.

Enroll in Okta!

The University of Michigan is replacing the current Weblogin and Duo sign-in experience with one provided by Okta, an industry-leading identity management platform. This transition will enhance the sign-in experience for U-M community members and introduce passwordless sign-in options, such as biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello), to mitigate phishing attacks.

If you have not already, please complete the Okta guided enrollment process at oktaverify.umich.edu before February 25, 2026:

  • Download the Okta Verify app for multi-factor authentication (MFA) onto your mobile device
  • Enroll your UMICH account in Okta
    • Optionally set up the Okta FastPass feature on your computer for passwordless sign-in

Key Transition Details

  • On February 25, you will start using Okta to sign in to access U-M web resources instead of Weblogin and Duo.
  • Please Note: After you enroll your account in Okta, you will continue to use Weblogin and Duo until the February 25th transition date.
  • A limited number of U-M services will continue to use Duo for a period of time after February.

New Features You Will Experience

  • A newly designed sign-in screen (with the URL okta.umich.edu in your browser)
  • Okta Verify replacing Duo as the main MFA application
  • The option to set up Okta FastPass on your computer for a convenient, passwordless sign-in experience
