Only Use Approved VPN Services

Please use the U‑M Net VPN when connecting to U‑M services with your Ross IT-managed device and avoid using third‑party VPNs (e.g., Tailscale, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Proton VPN, etc.). These third-party solutions can unintentionally interfere with your device’s performance and security protections.

ITS runs routine security scans across the U‑M network, and these scans may flag devices or connections using unapproved VPN services. We know there are many legitimate reasons people use VPN tools, and we’re happy to help you find an option that meets your needs while ensuring U-M security compliance.
