The components of the BBA degree

More specific information is available here: https://rossweb.bus.umich.edu/academics/curriculum/core-curriculum/bba/

The core are fixed and floating requirements. The fixed core are pre-selected for you each semester. The exception is Junior Winter, where there are no fixed core requirements, so many students consider studying abroad that term. The floating core are four courses (BE 300, FIN 300, MKT 300, and TO 300) that are available starting in Sophomore fall and must be completed by the end of Senior fall.

BBA electives are the courses the business courses you take based on your personal and professional interests to reach at least 61 business credits. You can start taking these courses in Sophomore fall, though most will not become available to you until your Junior year. They need to be completed prior to graduation.

The final course that BBA students complete in their Senior winter semester which is designed so students will need to apply the knowledge and skills they accumulated during their time at Ross.

ILP is a degree requirement that is designed to introduce Ross students to the concepts of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the contexts of their business education and roles as future business leaders. Students must complete all four components of the milestone requirement to receive the BBA degree. This includes successfully completing all milestone assignments embedded in the Ross Signature Learning Experiences or other delivery methods.

During your BA 100 class, you will complete your first Inclusive Leaders Pathway milestone.

The BBA program requires students to complete at least 54 credits of non-business coursework to ensure students develop a broad base of knowledge. Included in these credits are the FY required courses, courses counting toward distribution categories, and any additional non-business coursework a student takes.

Navigating Ross iMpact

iMpact is the Ross intranet system which houses many resources students use during their pursuit of their BBA. These include the BBA Bulletin which houses all the information on program curriculum, rules and policies for earning a BBA. Students are responsible for knowing the policies outlined in the BBA bulletin, we encourage you to acquaint yourself with it. Other often used resources are the Ross course descriptions, official forms, academic calendars, and much more. Students use this site to schedule appointments with their Ross Academic Advisor and Ross Academic Peer Advisors as well.
