Syllabi should also include the following note regarding mental health: As a student you may experience a range of issues that can cause barriers to learning, such as strained relationships, increased anxiety, alcohol/drug problems, feeling down, difficulty concentrating and/or lack of motivation. These mental health concerns or stressful events may lead to diminished academic performance or reduce a student’s ability to participate in daily activities. University of Michigan is committed to advancing the mental health and wellbeing of its students. If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed, depressed, and/or in need of support, services are available. The Ross School of Business has a CAPS Embedded Counselors available to its students. Embedded Counselors are located in school/college buildings and services are tailored to the school’s climate. Independent Study Projects

Students may choose to do individual or group Study Projects for course credit, under guidelines outlined in the program Bulletins. These projects are coordinated with a sponsoring faculty member and approved by the appropriate Area Chair as well as the Associate Dean for Degree Programs. Graduate level projects are numbered 750; undergraduate projects are numbered 399. Tuition will be charged for the term in which the student is registered for coursework. Students wanting to register for an Independent Study course are encouraged to carefully read all parts of the Independent Study Project instructions document before completing the application form. Students should reach out to their academic advisor with any questions.
