Core Course Requirements – MAcc
Thirty credit hours of core and elective courses are required to complete the MAcc degree. Students enter the program in September and complete their degree in May. The core curriculum consists of a series of accounting and financial reporting courses. As electives, a variety of business courses are available including, but not limited to, corporate strategy, finance, marketing, international business, economics and public policy. In addition, graduate level courses may be taken outside the Business School for students wishing to study non-business areas such as law, public policy, communications, or engineering.

- ACC 640: Advanced Management Accounting (1.5 credits) and ACC 650: Cost Management Systems (1.5 credits)
- ACC 711: Financial Statement Analysis (2.25 credits)
- ACC 713: Business Forecasting and Equity Valuation (2.25 credits)
- ACC/FIN 725: Managing the Maize and Blue Fund (1.5 credits) and ACC/FIN 726: Maize and Blue Fund (1.5 credits)
- BL 555: Ethics and Negotiation (3.0Â credits)
- Choose one of the following accepted Law School tax courses:
   LAW 691: International Tax
   LAW 726: Partnership Tax
   LAW 746: Tax of Financial Instruments
   LAW 747: Taxation of Individual Income

*Please note: Students who have a BBA from the University of Michigan are not eligible to waive any core courses.
Accounting Analytics Concentration:
For students that opt into the Accounting Analytics Concentration in addition to completing the core accounting curriculum, 8.25 credits of approved coursework will replace elective study to complete the concentration:Â
